Elizabeth Crichton Founder’s Day Lunch and Henry Duncan Lecture

Around 100 guests attended the Elizabeth Crichton Founder’s Day Lunch and Henry Duncan Lecture in June.

Founder’s Day this year was particularly significant as the Foundation announced the inception of the Dame Barbara Kelly Fellowship. This three-year post-graduate doctoral research scholarship has been created to acknowledge and celebrate the huge contribution that Barbara has made to the Campus and the work the Foundation does.

This important new award means we will have further fundraising challenges to face.
For the Henry Duncan Lecture Sir Kenneth Calman delivered a most interesting talk on happiness and left guests to ponder upon what makes them happy and whether they spend enough time on it.

The Elizabeth Crichton Founder’s Day Lunch and Henry Duncan Lecture is predominantly a profile raising event as well as the Foundation’s way of thanking those who support us. We are delighted to say that in 2014 the event raised over £2000 in donations and £900 from a raffle on the day. This most generous support is certainly something that makes us happy and we are able, in turn, to share this happiness with students and academic partners on the Crichton Campus.
