The post-Brexit economy:prospects for Scotland and the UK
Professor Anton Muscatelli was born in Italy and relocated to Scotland with his family where he was educated at the High School of Glasgow and then Glasgow University where he graduated MA in Political Economy and then did a PhD in Economics.
Appointed in 2009 as Principal and Vice Chancellor of Glasgow University, Sir Anton takes a very special interest in the Crichton University Campus and visits regularly. He was knighted in 2017 for services to economics and higher education.
He has an international reputation as a consultant economist to the World Bank and to the European Community and as an advisor to the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee and to the Scottish Government.
Given the continuing preoccupation with the impact of Brexit, he will explore the state of the Scottish and UK economy.
Doors open at 7pm with lectures beginning at 7:30pm prompt. A one-course supper, followed by coffee, will be served after the question and answer sessions close at 9:00pm. Red or white wine will be available for purchase by the glass from Easterbrook Hall. Please note that supper must be pre-booked at least one week in advance of the event.
