Who We Are
The Foundation is an independent body, established as a Trust in 2000. It is now a Scottish Company limited by guarantee and a registered Charity.
How We Operate
The Foundation raises funds through donations and events. Over the past eleven years Crichton Foundation has raised over £3.8m, all of which has been invested in the Campus.
The Foundation’s original capital endowment has been conserved and the interest it receives on this investment is used to fund modest operational costs. This means that all the funds that the Foundation raises from its activities and events are used to support the Campus.
The Foundation has a Board of Trustees. This comprises eight trustees elected by Foundation Members and up to seven co-opted trustees appointed as to represent its partners and the two student associations on the Campus.
Day to day operations are controlled by an Executive Committee and a series of sub committees including an Awards & Grants Committee, an Events and Fundraising Committee and an Audit Committee. Copies of our Audit Committee Terms of Reference are available from the Foundation Office upon request.
The Foundation works closely with the Crichton Trust which hold the lease on the Crichton site and the Crichton Development Company which manage the tenants and maintain the buildings and gardens.
The activities of the Foundation are carried out by two Office and Events Managers, one of whom also untertakes Company Secretary duties. Fund raising events such as the annual Gala Evening are supported by sub committees and a team of enthusiastic volunteers who commit their time to make the events a success.
