Partners in Regeneration of the Estate

Our development partners at the Crichton include Dumfries & Galloway Council, the owners of the site the Crichton Trust, a charitable company with similar objectives that also holds the lease on the Estate, and the Crichton Development Company, their trading subsidiary who manages the tenancies and is responsible for maintaining the buildings and gardens.

Partners in Development of the Campus

The Foundation is represented on the Joint Management Group of the Crichton Campus and works with the Institutions supporting collaborative academic developments and student facilities. The Crichton 2020 group established in 2010 is chaired by the Crichton Foundation and seeks out a vision for the Campus for the next decade.

The Group includes representatives from the following academic institutions; Dumfries and Galloway College, University of Glasgow, School of Interdisciplinary Studies, University of West Of Scotland, Open University, Crichton Carbon Centre and Scottish Agricultural College.

The Group also has representation from Dumfries and Galloway Council and Dumfries and Galloway NHS Health Board, Crichton Trust and Crichton Development Company.

Members of Crichton Foundation

As a limited company the Foundation is governed by its constitution and Membership. Members are entitled to vote at the AGM and can elect up to eight of its Trustees/Directors who are the majority of its Board. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 years and no subscription charge is currently levied. Trustees

The Foundation is a Scottish Charitable Guarantee Company that is controlled by a Board of Trustees/Directors. The Memorandum and Articles of Association make provision for up to eight elected Trustees, a representative of four appointed organisations, and up to three co-opted Trustees including representatives of the two student associations on the Campus. The Foundation holds quarterly Board meetings and an Annual General Meeting to which all its Friends and members of the public are invited.
