Putting your money in a collection box is actually not the most effecient way of giving to you favourite charity. Give As You Earn (or Payroll Giving) boosts your giving power. Give As You Earn is tax free and until April 2003, the Government is adding an additional 10% to every pledge made. If you pay tax at the standard rate it will cost you only £3.90 to give £5.50 to the charity of your choice, or give £7.80 to give £11.00. That's less than £1 and £2 per week respectively.
