Projects Required at the Crichton

The Crichton Foundation's main objectives are to support both the development of all aspects of higher education on the Crichton University Campus and the protection, preservation and regeneration of the Crichton Estate.

The Crichton Foundation is committed to supporting the following projects:

Specific initiatives and achievements include:

  • the Crichton University Scholarship Agreement (CUSA) - which has led students from targeted local schools to consider undertaking higher education and being given the opportunity to study locally for a degree;
  • the provision of hardship and other grants for local students - thus allowing them to continue their education and to fulfill their potential;
  • a new campus library and learning centre - to meet the growing needs of the Crichton University Campus.  The Foundation is offering both financial and fundraising support;
  • the digitisation of the Andy Goldsworthy archive - to preserve this unique material, for public access on the Crichton site.  The Foundation has provided funding for the technical development of the software and the salary of a supervisor for the process;
  • improved student facilities - through grants towards better childcare, sports and recreational facilities;
  • the development of the Solway House Arts Centre - the Foundation has helped to fund the feasibility study for  this future development; and
  • the development of Browne House as a Centre for Professional Development - to provide a facility for continuing education.

Help in any form, whether in donations, cash or kind is welcomed.
You can also help by leaving a legacy or bequest to the Campus
