The Crichton Today ...

The Crichton is a showpiece in regeneration, demonstrating how lifelong learning and international enterprise can be successfully conducted in a rural environment. Linked by modern technology we can connect people all over the world, and provide many with learning and business opportunities to which they had no previous access.

With the regeneration of the Crichton site, the latest technological high speed data and communication links have been installed. These form the linchpin which attracts students and businesses into the area. Currently the Crichton University Campus encompasses the Higher Education Institutions of the Universities of Glasgow and Paisley, Bell College and The Open University along with the Further Education establishments of Dumfries and Galloway College and The Scottish Agricultural College.

The Crichton Campus' latest showpiece, Browne House, the Centre for Continuous Professional Development was completed in May 2002. The Crichton Foundation was able to assist with the funding for this exciting venture and are proud to have their offices in this state of the art building.

There are 30 businesses located at the Business Park, including two Call Centres, creating many employment opportunities locally. Other small, but rapidly growing companies specialising in new technology also have offices on the Business Park.
